| ELIGIBILITY: | Open to all registered Potomac Valley Swimming Athletes. All entry times are subject to verification. 12 & Under contestants must have equaled or bettered the applicable No Slower Than (NST) times listed or 1997 "AA" or better short course times. Non-conforming (SC Yards) times will be seeded after long course entry times. Indicate SC or LC on Master Entry. |
| RULES: | Current United States Swimming rules shall govern the meet. All events are timed finals. A contestant may enter no more than three individual events per day and no more than six for the meet. |
| SEEDING: | All events will be seeded on the deck and will require a positive check-in. Swimmers intending to swim all events may check-in for all events in each session at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the first event of each session. Swimmers in the first half of the events (excluding relays) of each session must check-in no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of the first event. Swimmers in the second half of the events of each session must check-in no later than the start of the first event of the session. This sequence will be followed throughout the meet. PVS Scratch Policy will be enforced. Athletes shall designate their intention to swim the event on the forms provided. Athletes who have not checked-in prior to the specified time will be scratched from the event. Athletes who have checked-in, have been seeded, and fail to swim the event will be barred from their next scheduled individual event, unless excused by the Referee. |
| ADMISSION: | There is no admission charge. Programs will be available for $3.00, and will include all sessions. PVS members who present a current membership card may purchase one program for $1.50. Working officials and coaches receive a free daily program. |
| SUPERVISION: | Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their swimmers and for cleaning up their team areas. |
| WARM-UPS: | The prescribed Potomac Valley Swimming warm-up procedures and safety policies will be followed. The Meet Manager may determine the structure of the warm-up, including times and lane assignments. |
| OFFICIALS: | Certified officials please sign in with the Referee. |
| TIMERS: | Participating clubs are required to provide timers in proportion to their entries. A timer is required for each 25 entries. The number of timers being committed must be included on the club master entry. The number of timers required will be adjusted when the club is providing other officials. Acceptance of the club entry is based upon compliance with the above. The host club is required to provide one timer per lane. |
| SCORING: | There will be Team Scoring to 16 places as follows: Events: 20 17 16 15 14 13 12 11 9 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 Relays: 40 34 32 30 28 26 24 22 18 14 12 10 8 6 4 2 |
| AWARDS: | Medals will be awarded to first - eighth place for individual events. Medals to first - third place for relay events. Heat ribbons are awarded to the winner of each heat. High Point for the top three males and females. |
| WARNING: | Any club that enters an unregistered athlete, falsifies an entry in any way, or permits an unregistered coach to represent them, will be fined the sum of $100.00, and no further entries will be accepted from that club until said fine is paid. |
| FEES: | Fees for individual events are $3.50. Relays are $6.00. Each club is requested to remit one check to cover the entry fee for the entire team. Please do not send cash. Telephone entries will not be accepted. |
| ENTRIES: | Computer Disk entries (HY-TEK) require a Meet Entry Report by SWIMMER and a Meet Entry Report by EVENT from Team Manager. Entries may also be submitted on the PVS Master Entry Sheet. Also submit a completed "Entry Cover Sheet". Signature over printed name and phone number of a Club official must be included with entry for validation of entries. PVS ENTRY CARDS must also be submitted for each relay team. Relays must be submitted on a PVS Master Entry Sheet. |
